History

1951

GOSEN CO., LTD. was extablished and started manufacturing nylon synthetic thread.

1954

Tenjin factory was established to start the production of racket string and fishing line.

1958

Started to export the racket synthetic strings

1960

Developed world longest selling string "HY-SHEEPⓇ".

1963

Developed special coated string "OG-SHEEPⓇ".

1968

For the first time in Japan "HY-SHEEP-S" was officially recognized by Japan Soft Tennis Federation.
Tennis strings were also officially recognized by Japan Tennis Association.

1969

Obtained a patent on manufacturing the whole shaft, strictly steel made badminton rackets.
Released the highest quality and lightest weight model "EXCELLENT".

1971

Oil injected "HY-O-SHEEPⓇ" tennis string obtained patent in U.S.A., U.K. etc..

1973

Rod Laver (Australia) the Grand Slam tennis champion signed a contract to promote GOSEN.

1976

In the golden age of the wooden racket, GOSEN developed the bamboo racket "HY-THOMASⓇ" that has better resilience than wooden.

1980

Releaesd the world's first joint-less carbon badminton racket and this racket leads to the current carbon rakets.

1981-1982

Jimmy Connors and Chris Evert Lloyd, top players at that time, signed an international contract to promote GOSEN.

1985

GOSEN strings were officially approved by Indonesia Badminton Association.

1986

R & D center was builded next to Tenjin factory.
Officially approved by International Tennis Federation.

1988

GOSEN CO., LTD., TAIWAN BRANCH was established in Taichung, Taiwan.
Developed genuine multi-filament string "TECGUTⓇ".

1989

GOSEN CO. PTE. LTD. was established in Singapore.

1990

Developed "Umishima" structure, "TECGUT 7000".

1991

GOSEN AMERICA, INC. was established in U.S.A.
Signed with Jim Courier (U.S.A.) and Gabriela Sabatini (Argentine) to promote tennis string.

1994

Signed with C. Martinez (Spain) to promote GOSEN tennis string "TECGUT PRO" for widebody tennis racket.

1996

GOSEN is the only badminton string which was approved by International Badminton Federation.

1998

Developed "GAVUNⓇ" shaft, "ROOTSⓇ" racket, featuring two-kick points for the first time in the racket industry.

1999

Developed bio degradable string "BIOGUTⓇ" for the first time in the world.
Signed with Malaysian Badminton Association for sponsorship.

2000

Singed with Anna Kournikova (Russia) to promote GOSEN tennis string and grip.

2001

Adopted the super alloy "AERMET" in strings and rackets for the first time in the world.

2003

SHANGHAI GOSEN CO., LTD. was established in Shanghai, China.
Lined up the new ROOTS series racket with new patented mechanism named WPP (Wave Power Performance) which increases resilience.
Tenjin factory was certified under ISO9001 (Quality Management System).

2005

Tenjin Factory was certified under ISO 14001 (environmental management system).
Adopted nano-technology in strings "NANOCUBICⓇ" first time in the world.

2006

Became a member of NIKKE group.

2007

Developed R4X badminton string with revolutionary Quattro-Fiber.

2009

Developed FG tennis string with flat shape first time in the world.

2012

GOSEN (THAILAND) CO., LTD. was established in Bangkok, Thailand.

2015

Head office was relocated to Nishi-ku, Osaka, Japan.

2019
